What is a Registered Dietitian (RD)?

A registered dietitian (RD) is a nutrition expert. As a registered dietitian, I am equipped to help you to transform your relationship with food and eating. Partnering with a registered dietitian is an investment in the healthiest version of you. And let me tell you, you’re worth it.

On my journey towards becoming a registered dietitian, I completed my Master’s degree right here in NYC as well as my internship, similar to how doctors and nurses work in their field under supervision as we all learn our field. I also completed the national board exam and do continuing education each and every year.

And before starting my own private practice, I worked at the #1 hospital in NYC for eight years. I have a robust clinical foundation to provide solutions for my clients.

All this is to say that I am on top of the latest research and have extensive knowledge to help you conquer your prediabetes. You deserve to work with an expert: that’s what you get with a registered dietitian.

What makes you unique?

Not only am I a registered dietitian – a nutrition expert – I am also a culinary nutritionist. That means that I can empower you with strategic planning for you to achieve your best blood sugar yet. We’ll accomplish this with menus that include your very favorite foods and recipes. I also provide additional resources like exclusive cooking videos and handouts.

Do you accept insurance?

Great question – while I do not bill insurance, I am happy to provide you with a superbill, which is a formal invoice for my services. Depending on your insurance benefits, or if you have coverage for out-of-network providers, our visits may be covered partially or in full.

What services do you offer?

As my client, you and I will work together for several months so that you are able to cultivate the healthy lifestyle that you’ve always dreamed of.

You can learn more about the services I offer here.

Please note: I do not offer single visits; they do not offer my clients a true opportunity for lasting change.

Where is your office located?

My practice is 100% virtual. While I live in New Jersey, many of my clients live in New York. I also work with clients across the country.

How long is each session?

Each session is 1 hour long. Through my telehealth platform we are able to see each other via video.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, I require at least 24 hours notice in advance of your appointment or one session will be deducted from your package (waived for emergency circumstances). Due to the nature of our work together, the package fee is non refundable.

What is prediabetes?

Prediabetes is a diagnosis that means that your blood sugar is higher than normal, but isn’t yet high enough to be considered type 2 diabetes. And while this new diagnosis might feel scary and overwhelming, the good news is that with the right intervention you can actually do a 180 on your lab values.

Did you know?

  • 1 in 3 adults in the US has prediabetes
  • About 25% of people who have prediabetes will eventually develop type 2 diabetes

How good would it feel to say that you reversed your prediabetes? It is 100% possible and I can help you to get there.

What causes prediabetes?

Let’s start with the important detail first: your prediabetes is not your fault.

There are many factors that increase your risk for prediabetes. These include:

  • Overweight
  • Family history
  • Physical activity level
  • Nutrition and diet choices
  • Age
  • Race and ethnicity
  • History of gestational diabetes

And while some of these factors are under your control, many aren’t. And if you don’t have the right tools, knowledge, and support to make healthy changes that stick, you’re going to keep feeling stuck.

As a prediabetes dietitian, I empower my clients to improve their lab values and feel great.

Can prediabetes be reversed?

Absolutely yes!

And once more for the people in the back: Yes! With the right strategy, you can take charge of your health and reverse your prediabetes. I’d be honored to help.

What is a healthy diet for prediabetes?

This may surprise you, but there are many options for a healthy diet for prediabetes. You do not need to follow a cookie-cutter, uninspiring meal plan with foods that you don’t love.

What my clients love about my approach to nutrition counseling is that my recommendations and plans are individualized to each and every client. If you love potatoes, you’re going to have potatoes on your plate. If you hate eggplant, I am not going to share a single recipe that has eggplant in it.

A healthy diet for prediabetes is one that feels good (and eventually feels effortless to follow), helps you to achieve your health goals, and tastes great. If that sounds like something you’re after, please set up your complimentary 20-minute call.

What foods do I have to avoid with prediabetes?

You can eat all foods, even with a diagnosis of prediabetes. I promise!

I also know that this feels like a shock when I’m working with new clients…you really don’t have to give up your favorite foods (really!).

When you work with me, you’ll love your new plan that incorporates your favorite foods within the big-picture plan. A plan that empowers your best health, all while lowering your blood sugar…and being delicious. This includes work in and out of the kitchen, such as improving your sleep and reducing stress.

You are a unique person with your own individual health history, goals, and preferences, you deserve a dietitian who will create the perfect tailor-made plan for you.
